HATTIESBURG – The William Carey men nearly doubled up on Carver College on Tuesday, earning their first victory of the 2020-2021 season.
The Crusaders (1-2) had extended scoring runs late in the first half and into the second half to pick up a 96-49 win. WCU scored 14 unanswered after the break to go up by 43, as the game was firmly in the Crusaders’ control.
WCU was led in scoring by Dajon Whitworth, who put in 22. Maxwell Starwood recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 boards.
Javari Thigpen brought down an impressive 16 rebounds on the night.
