The winning team put nine runs on the board in each game of the doubleheader in Tennessee and both William Carey and Missouri Baptist each came away with a win on Wednesday.
The Crusaders dropped the first game, 9-1, to the Spartans, but came back to take Game Two, 9-3, and are now 6-13 on the year outside of Southern States play.
Collin Johnson pitched in only the first inning, but took the Game One loss. MBU put the first eight runs on the board and led 8-0 after three.
Devin Smith gave up only four hits through the full seven innings in Game Two and earned the win. The Crusaders were up 5-0 after five and put two runs up in both the sixth and seventh innings to push on for the victory.
WCU has won four of its last five heading into a three-game series at Blue Mountain this weekend.
