JACKSON – Blue Mountain made easy work of Tougaloo College here Tuesday night in straight sets, 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-14).
It never was really a competition, as Blue Mountain hit .326 as a team, with Taylor Wright (SR/Huntsville, Ala.) leading with a double-double at 10 kills and 11 digs.
Julianna Taylor (SR/Bear Creek, Ala.) would add nine kills for the Toppers, while J’Myia Lipscomb (JR/Muscle Shoals, Ala.) dished out 17 assists.
Blue Mountain would force 16 Tougaloo errors, while committing a season low 12.
“I thought we played really well last night,” Topper head coach Reid Gann said. “We struck the ball hard and played strong on defense. It was a good win.”
BMC (4-4) returns to action Friday at 6 p.m., hosting Williams Baptist at Tyler Gymnasium in Blue Mountain.
