CENTERVILLE, Tenn. – (Results) Blue Mountain Women’s Golf made an easy stroll of Tuesday’s Riley Moore Collegiate Cup, winning over second-place and host Freed-Hardeman by 13 strokes to take the team championship.
The BMC ladies shot a 323 total for the day, while BMC’s Riley Mahew took the individual crown with a 2-over-74.
BMC’s Lucy Martin (SR/New Albany, Miss.) was just behind her, firing a 79, while Dejone Lee (SR/Richland, Miss.) tied for fourth with an 82. Martin and Lee would also be named to the All-Tournament Team.
Newcomer Sarah Raper (FR/Plantersville, Miss.) would pull in tied at ninth with an 88, and teammate Andrea Huguenin (JR/Biloxi, Miss.) was right with her in ninth.
Isabella Reynolds (FR/West Lafayette, Ind.) shot a 101 for 18th, Riley Adams (FR/Amory, Miss.) was 19th with a 102, Abbey Griffin (SO/New Albany, Miss.) was 21st with a 108 and Molly Todd (JR/Water Valley, Miss.) shot a 112 for 22nd.
“I’m really proud of our ladies and how they performed today,” BMC head coach Kevin Barefield said. “They played with intensity and executed well off the tee through the green. Dejone and Lucy had a solid round today making the All-Tournament Team and Riley had a great round finishing as the low medalist for the tournament. I know our ladies are ready to get back to work as we prepare for a tough schedule ahead.”
