KENNETT, Mo. – (Results) Blue Mountain Women’s Golf made it two-for-two Tuesday, winning the Williams Baptist Fall Invitational, while Riley Mayhew (SO/Plantersville, Miss.) won her second-straight individual title.
Blue Mountain would shoot 327 Monday, followed by a 325 Tuesday for a 652 total.
Mayhew would take out the field with a 75 on Monday and a 78 today for a 153 for the victory.
Lucy Martin (SR/New Albany, Miss.) wasn’t far behind for BMC, shooting two 79s for a 158 total and runner-up.
Dejone Lee (SR/Richland, Miss.) tied at sixth with scores of 85-84-169, Sarah Raper (FR/Plantersville, Miss.) was 10th at 88-84-172 and Andrea Huguenin (JR/Biloxi, Miss.) was tied at 14th at 92-85-177.
Williams Baptist would finish second at 694, 42 strokes behind Blue Mountain.
“I’m very pleased with how our ladies played,” BMC head coach Kevin Barefield said. “They really came out on fire on day one and continued that through today. It was another great win, and we’re looking forward to the rest of the season.”
BMC returns to action September 27-28 at the Lyon College Invitational in Melbourne, Ark.
