SEARCY, Ark. – Harding men’s soccer opened its 2019 home schedule Friday with a 0-0, double-overtime tie against Gulf South Conference opponent Mississippi College. It was Harding’s first scoreless tie at home since a goalless game against Texas Wesleyan in 2013.
Harding’s best scoring opportunities came in the second half, when the Bisons outshot the Choctaws, 9-4.
Seven of Harding’s 14 shots were on goal. Mississippi College got only three of its 20 shots on goal.
Harding goalkeeper Carlos Calderon recorded his first shutout as a Bison with three saves.
Harding is back at home Sunday at 1 p.m. against another Gulf South Conference opponent, Delta State.
