BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – (Box Score) Blue Mountain women couldn’t find the bucket in the second quarter of their SSAC matchup against Stillman, leading to a 48-45 loss to open its conference play Friday night.
After opening the first with a 15-9 lead, the Lady Toppers hot hand went cold as Stillman jumped out to a 24-15 lead at the break.
Blue Mountain didn’t have any more issues on the offensive end, outscoring Stillman 13-10 in the third and 17-14 in the fourth, but it wouldn’t be enough.
De’Asia Marsh would lead the Lady Tigers with 15 points, followed by Brittany Washington with 12 and Zikira Williams with 10.
Kandice Ricks (JR/Muscle Shoals, Ala.) led Blue Mountain with 11 points, including three 3-pointers.
The win gives Stillman (1-4, 1-3 SSAC) its first of the season, while Blue Mountain drops to 3-6, 0-1 SSAC.
The two teams will square up again tomorrow in Blue Mountain in the Western Division of the SSAC with a 3 p.m. tip.
